ALBA Seminar on “Article 8: Privacy and Private Life”

Richard Spearman QC was one of the speakers at a very well attended ALBA seminar on 2 March 2010.

He delivered a paper entitled “Privacy – The Swinging Pendulum” in which he set out the current legal landscape concerning misuse of private information and discussed a number of current issues, such as the relationship between Article 8 and the protection of reputation, the approach of the courts to publication of information concerning the sex lives of famous people, and so-called “super injunctions”.
