Sarah-Jane Davies

Sarah-Jane has a wide-ranging public law practice, embracing all aspects of judicial review proceedings and statutory appeals. She is a member of the Attorney-General’s B Panel of Junior Counsel to the Crown, and as such regularly acts for central government departments on public law matters ranging from prisons and coroners to immigration, care standards and education. Sarah-Jane works extensively in the education field, in which she is recognised as a leading junior. She also has broad experience in local government and regulatory matters, and is regularly instructed by many local authorities as well as bodies such as the Financial Services Authority and the Financial Ombudsman Service. She has particular experience of public inquiries, having acted as Junior Counsel to the BSE Inquiry.
Sarah-Jane is also an experienced practitioner in the employment law sphere, acting regularly for both applicants and respondents in the whole range of employment related matters, including unfair dismissal, breach of contract, discrimination and equal pay. Her clients include public bodies, such as central and local government and the Civil Aviation Authority, as well as private companies and individuals.
Sarah-Jane also has considerable expertise in planning and environmental law, acting both at public inquiries and at High Court level.
