Prior to commencing pupillage Laura worked as a solicitor for a local authority. She conducted a range of work including: homelessness, civil litigation, employment and judicial reviews. In her role as a solicitor she represented clients at court hearings in the magistrates’ court, county court and the employment tribunal. From this experience Laura has gained an excellent working knowledge of local government law and procedure.
During pupillage Laura has been exposed to a variety of work including housing, homelessness, judicial reviews and work to tackle anti-social behaviour. She has also completed her LLM and was awarded a distinction.
Laura is a keen writer and has had two articles published in legal journals: 'Piercing the corporate veil: reconciling R v Sale, Prest v Petrodel Resources Ltd and VTB Capital Plc v Nutritek International Corporation’ Co Law 35 (12), 363 and ‘Contractual interpretation and commercial common sense: setting the limits’ (2015) P.C.B, 268 which she co-authored.
She accepts instructions in all areas of Chambers’ work, with a particular interest in homelessness, housing, employment and public law.
Laura is also a member of the Attorney General’s Junior Junior Scheme.
