Chambers invites you to two webinars which will provide an overview of key aspects in relation

to residential leasehold service charges. Our speakers for both of these seminars will be

Stephanie Lovegrove and Annette Cafferkey, both of whom have many years and extensive

experience of work in this area.

The first seminar, on the 14th of December 2022  (5-6.30pm)will cover two areas:

1. The structure of a lease, what a service charge is, and service charge machinery

2. Statutory pre-conditions in relation to the recovery of service charges

The second, on 17th January 2023 (5-6.30pm) will discuss

1. The typical costs items that may arise under a lease, and common legal issues in

relation to them;

2. Whether a service charge is payable for the purposes of s.27A, Landlord and Tenant

Act 1985, with a focus on reasonableness under s.19 and recent case law

Who should attend? These webinars will provide a comprehensive overview of key residential leasehold issues. A sound introduction for newcomers and a helpful re-cap for those familiar.
