4-5 Gray’s Inn Square medical regulatory counsel Iulia Saran represented a registered mental health nurse in an Article 2 ECHR inquest regarding the death in custody of a prisoner.
The inquest considered, among others, whether the prisoner’s health had been assessed and managed appropriately in the days leading up to his death, and whether any delay in transferring him to the hospital caused or contributed to his death. The jury found that the prisoner had died of natural causes.
