Max Shephard and Elizabeth Nicholls appointed to the Government of the Virgin Islands Panel Counsel

Chambers is delighted to announce that the Government of the Virgin Islands, acting through the Attorney General’s Chambers in the British Virgin Islands, have appointed Max Shephard and Elizabeth Nicholls to their Panel Counsel.

 

The work of the Attorney General’s Chambers involves advising and representing the BVI Government in legal matters, responding to the needs for law reform and promoting the fair administration of justice.  The role will involve exposure to matters of great public importance and complexity in the territory. The objective of appointing Panel Counsel is to improve outcomes in all areas of legal practice by assessing level of skill, qualification and expertise required.

 

Max Shephard was called to the Bar in 2013 (England & Wales) but also has rights of audience in the Astana International Financial Centre (Kazakhstan). He has been instructed in significant offshore investigations and matters that span across multiple jurisdictions.

 

Elizabeth Nicholls was called to the Bar of England and Wales in 2018 and was called to the Bar of the Eastern Caribbean Supreme Court (territory of the Virgin Islands) in 2021. She is a barrister, mediator and arbitrator (MCIArb) and has experience of complex legal matters and advising both domestic and international clients.
