Mediation - The power to settle

Following the Government’s proposals for mandatory mediation for claims under £10,000, all those involved in legal disputes will be reminded of the power that mediation has to settle disputes. The likelihood is that an element of compulsion in one form or another will be extended to all civil disputes. Lowering the costs, stress and litigation risk for the client, mediation gives the power to settle disputes in the hands of the parties.

At 4-5, our mediation specialists are resolving more disputes by mediation than ever before. Mediation at 4-5 allows parties to quickly and professionally reach a resolution that all parties can live with - enabling positive business and personal relationships to continue.

The team at 4-5 bring commercial reality and common sense to the mediation process. We have a solid track record of assisting parties to resolve even the most complex of issues in a wide range of fields, from commercial and contract, land and property, construction, private client, public law and intellectual property rights.

The Group comprises of 12 Civil Mediation Council regulated mediators and eight other accredited mediators. Between us, we have over 150 years of experience in mediating disputes of varying complexity and value. Our mediators not only conduct mediations as a neutral party but also represent parties at mediations of all levels.

With a fully equipped mediation suite in the heart of Central London and offices in Birmingham, 4-5 mediators have facilities at their disposal, essential for modern mediations. Our mediators can also travel to your venue of choice, nationally and internationally.

Online mediations have increased dramatically since the pandemic and all mediators can conduct mediations online, should the parties prefer.
