Large greenfield housing developments are reported to be worsening car dependency, at a time of a climate emergency and contrary to National Planning Policy. The Building Car Dependency report was published in February 2022 by Transport for New Homes. This article looks at the underlying research and lessons that those working with both developers and local planning authorities may take from it.
