Practice Summary

Christine is a CMC registered commercial mediator. She gained accreditation with CEDR in 2000, since which time she has mediated a broad range of commercial disputes.  She has a particular interest in commercial disputes within companies, public institutions, local authorities.

Over 25 years’ experience as a Barrister and Solicitor in Australia, in-house counsel and Head of HR in international companies based in the UK, including in the aviation, industrial, manufacturing and engineering sectors, gives Christine a unique practical insight into the commercial aspect of disputes.  She recognises the value of settling disputes as early as possible, so that parties can get back to the business of business and their lives.

Christine’s approach combines empathy, resilience, and a keen understanding of the broader consequences of prolonged disputes on individuals, their organisation, companies and families.  She values early resolution to allow parties to focus on what matters most – their businesses, their reputations, their professional and personal lives.

In addition, Christine’s strong background in industry gives her a unique, practical perspective on the value of managing workplace and employment disputes and mediating at the earliest point in the dispute to salvage relationships. This includes shareholder disputes.

Christine mediates face-to-face and is happy to travel to the parties’ preferred venue.

Christine co-sponsors a pro bono community mediation clinic in Perth, Western Australia, demonstrating her commitment to conflict resolution beyond the boardroom.

Christine has worked extensively in the US, Brazil, Europe (France and Germany), Australia, the Far East (China and Malaysia).
