Ellie Barra serves as Senior Practice Manager at 4–5 Gray’s Inn Square, where she leads the strategic and operational management of Chambers’ Housing and Property teams. Recognised for her calm authority, organisational strength, and relationship-driven approach, Ellie plays a central role in supporting barristers and clients across two of Chambers’ most dynamic and high-demand practice areas.
With a strong background in clerking and practice development, Ellie brings extensive experience in diary management, fee negotiation, workflow oversight, and long-term practice planning. Her work is defined by a deep understanding of the Housing and Property sectors, enabling her to anticipate client needs, proactively guide barristers’ professional growth, and ensure the effective and efficient delivery of high-quality legal services.
Ellie joined Chambers in November 2020 as a Junior Clerk having previously worked in the same role at another Barristers' Chambers. After a brief time away, clerking at a leading civil and commercial Chambers, she returned to 4-5 Gray's Inn Square in December 2025 as Senior Practice Manager.
Ellie studied English, Physical Education and Media Studies at Sixth Form College. Outside work, Ellie plays football for her local team and hopes to bring some serious expertise to the 4-5 football team! She also enjoys socialising with friends and family.
Ellie is a member of the Institute of Barristers Clerks.
