Medical Practitioners’ Tribunal Success for Doctor Client of Iulia Saran
Iulia Şaran successfully acted for a doctor in a 7 day dishonesty trial brought by the GMC before the Medical Practitioners’ Tribunal.
The doctor was alleged to have dishonestly created and submitted false documents in order to seek financial assistance from the Trust at which she worked. The Tribunal found that, whilst the documents were misleading, the doctor had not submitted them dishonestly. Her actions were found to amount to misconduct, but the doctor‘s fitness to practise was found not impaired owing to the strength of the doctor‘s remedial material and insight. The Tribunal decided that imposing a warning in this case would be disproportionate.
