The Brook House Inquiry Report published
The inquiry found that a toxic culture persisted at Brook House between April and August 2017, and calls for significant reforms to immigration detention. In particular, the inquiry found credible evidence of acts/omissions capable of amounting to mistreatment at Brook House on 19 separate occasions. The most serious incident of which involved the application of pressure to a detained person’s neck whilst they were in extreme distress.
