ADR, Reputation and the Media: 4-5 Sponsors Expert Panel Discussion
On 7 May 2026, 4-5 mediator Iain Christie moderated a panel on ADR and Media Disputes with the CEOs of the two UK press regulators, Impress and IPSO (Independent Press Standards Organisation). The event was organised by the Chartered Institute of Arbitrators, London Branch, and the School of International Arbitration at Queen Mary, University of London and coordinated by Thomas Dillon.
The panel event took place at the Centre for Commercial Law Studies in Lincoln’s Inn Fields. Iain’s panel featured Lexie Kirkconnell-Kawana, CEO of Impress, Charlotte Dewar, CEO of IPSO, and Dr Gemma Horton, Impact Fellow for Centre for Freedom of the Media, University of Sheffield. The event was a unique opportunity for legal practitioners to hear the two press regulators in conversation.
A second panel, moderated by Prof Loukas Mistelis FCIArb Mistelis, brought together Persephone Bridgman Baker of Carter Ruck, Michael Frost of Mishcon de Reya and Los Angeles attorney and “Legal Legend” Michael Kump of KHIKS to discuss the challenges of handling disputes involving the reputations of high-profile individuals in a modern world of social media.
