4-5 Gray’s Inn Square Celebrates Amit Jamsandekar’s Appointment to the Bombay High Court Bench
Amit Jamsandekar, International Tenant of 4-5 Gray's Inn Square, has been appointed as a judge of the prestigious Bombay High Court, India, by the President of India. He has taken his oath of office.
Amit joined 4-5 Gray’s Inn Square as an International Tenant with a specialism in intellectual property and arbitration. This is probably the first time that an international member of a London barristers’ chambers has been elevated to the High Court Bench in India.
Timothy Straker KC, Joint Head of Chambers at 4-5 Gray’s Inn Square, has congratulated Amit on his elevation to the Bench. He said, “Amit’s appointment as a judge of the Bombay High Court is a matter of great privilege and honour for 4-5 Gray’s Inn Square. We wish him the very best in his new role as a judge of the Bombay High Court.”

Mr. Justice Amit Jamsandekar has more than 26 years of experience practising as counsel in commercial and intellectual property disputes. A solicitor of the Supreme Court of England & Wales since 2002, Amit is currently pursuing a doctoral degree at the University of Leicester, following his earlier LL.M. from Cardiff and degrees in law and development studies from Mumbai University, India.
