Annabel Steele, Barrister at 4-5 Gray’s Inn Square, secures £33,370 in damages and injunctive relief in unlawful eviction and harassment claim

Annabel Steele, Barrister at 4-5 Gray’s Inn Square, has secured £33,370 in damages and injunctive relief on behalf of a tenant in a claim against his landlord arising from unlawful eviction and harassment.

Annabel had previously obtained an interim injunction in December 2025, securing the tenant’s re-entry into the property.

Following a full trial at Liverpool County Court on 8 July, Recorder Grundy found in favour of the claimant on all heads of claim. The court awarded damages totalling £33,370, including aggravated and exemplary damages, together with injunctive relief.

Annabel was instructed by Simon Pile of Shelter Merseyside. The pleadings were drafted by fellow 4-5 Gray’s Inn Square barrister, Toby Vanhegan.
