Edwin Cameron, Former Justice of the Constitutional Court of South Africa, joins 4-5.
4-5 Gray’s Inn Square is delighted to announce that Edwin Cameron has accepted an invitation to join us as an international arbitrator following his recent retirement as a judge of the Constitutional Court of South Africa.
One of South Africa’s foremost jurists and legal academics, Edwin Cameron has enjoyed a highly distinguished judicial career over the last quarter of a century and was appointed to the Constitutional Court in 2009.
He is well known for his many seminal judgments on anti-corruption, defamation and free speech and as a leading activist on HIV/AIDS and gay rights.
He is an honorary fellow of the Institute of Advanced Legal Studies and of Keble College, Oxford and a patron of the Oxford University Commonwealth Law Journal.
Edwin has received many awards and honours for his legal and human rights work and was described by Nelson Mandela as “one of South Africa’s new heroes”.
