Raoul Colvile has been appointed to the SFO’s Trial Counsel B Panel
Raoul Colvile has been appointed to the SFO’s Trial Counsel B Panel. The appointment is effective from 31 December 2024 and will run for four years. The appointment flows from Raoul’s significant white collar crime experience, including his extensive work for the SFO since the last Panel refresh in 2020.
𝗙𝗶𝗻𝗱 𝗼𝘂𝘁 𝗺𝗼𝗿𝗲
Raoul’s practice focuses on complex white collar crime and investigations. He also accepts instructions on regulatory matters (where he has considerable financial regulatory experience) and is currently instructed on a major public inquiry.
Raoul has been involved in some of the most significant white collar cases of recent years. Highlights include: his work for the SFO as junior trial counsel in a major fraud case; his instruction by the SFO in 2020’s DPA with G4S Care & Justice Services (UK) Ltd; and his work as part of the defence team in the UK’s first ever DPA (SFO v. ICBC Standard Bank Plc).
His recent financial regulatory highlights include advising the Financial Conduct Authority and the Isle of Man Financial Services Authority (IOMFSA) on a number of matters. These include acting for the IOMFSA on their investigation and early settlement of matters relating to a regulated corporate and trust services provider in 2022. He also acted for the IOMSFA on the prohibitions of a former senior leader in 2023, and a former senior executive in 2024.
Raoul is currently instructed in the Independent Inquiry relating to Afghanistan.
