Teaching 'LGBT issues' at a Birmingham Primary School – Court decision regarding protesters

Judgment is out in the case of Birmingham City Council v Afsar & Ors [2019] EWHC 3217 (QB). Jonathan Manning and Clara Zang have successfully obtained final injunctions against protesters who oppose the teaching of “LGBT issues” at Anderton Park Primary School.

This is an important case which considers the competing fundamental rights of parents, protesters, children and teachers under the European Convention of Human Rights: the right to respect for private and family life, freedom of expression, freedom of assembly and association, freedom of thought, conscience and religion, and the right to education.
