Timothy Dutton CBE, KC
4-5 Gray’s Inn Square pays tribute to Timothy Dutton CBE, KC of Fountain Court, Temple who died on 4th June 2025.
He was undoubtedly a great lawyer and made a very substantial contribution to the Bar of England and Wales, of which he was chairman. He was instrumental in establishing the Keeble Course for Advocacy, which continues to play an important part in legal training. He also established the Bar Choral Society, which highlighted his love of music. He was an accomplished player of the French Horn and had a marvellous baritone voice.
Our thoughts and deep condolences go to his family, particularly Sappho Dias and Pia Dutton.
