4-5’s current pupils Ilana Hirschberg and Benedict Scantlebury have commenced the second half of their pupillage and are now ‘on their feet’.
Ilana started out working in a Legal Aid Firm acting for both private and public sector tenants where she dealt with cases covering possession, disrepair, homelessness, and discrimination. Before commencing pupillage, Ilana worked for 1.5 years as a Housing Paralegal and then for 1 year as a Senior Housing Paralegal.
In 2021 Ilana transitioned to a charity where she broadened her experience and continued to work on possession, disrepair and homelessness matters while also taking on leasehold and TOLATA disputes.
Ilana has a strong interest in public law and judicial review and during pupillage she has expanded her knowledge and experience in this area.
Ilana has recently co-authored three articles for Lexisnexis on topical public law and financial regulation issues. She has authored an article for the Oxford Journal of Law and Religion.
Ilana accepts work across housing, property, public law, healthcare regulation, financial services regulation, and local government.
