Boris Lazic is able to accept new instructions in both contentious and non-contentious English law matters

As of 7 January, Boris Lazic is on “his feet”. He can accept instructions in both contentious and non-contentious English law matters.

Boris transferred to the Bar of England and Wales from Cyprus (a common law jurisdiction), where he has been an advocate for the past 12 years. He is now undertaking the practicing part of his reduced pupillage. During his non practicing part of pupillage, Boris shadowed barristers, of our Chambers, in commercial, financial crime, planning, public and general civil law matters before the English courts.

Boris’s practice is predominantly focused on commercial claims and associated interim remedies (injunctions). However, recently, in his capacity as a Cypriot advocate, Boris has successfully acted for clients in financial crime (fraud) and extradition matters, as well as general civil law matters.

Over the years Boris has appeared as counsel before arbitration tribunals internationally and Cypriot courts of all levels. In the out of court matters, as a Cypriot advocate, Boris has acted for clients in high value M&A transactions in the commercial real estate, banking and energy sectors and provided advice on challenging shareholder deadlocks, economic torts and other matters.

As a person who is fluent in 4 languages (English, Serbian, Greek and Russian), a significant part of Boris’s work involves an international element deriving from both the Western and the Eastern hemispheres.

Boris looks forward to receiving instructions and developing a practice as a barrister in commercial (including those involving elements of Criminal Law) and general civil cases, public and international law matters.

To instruct Boris, please get in touch with either Emily Martin ([email protected]) or Stephen Somerville ([email protected]) on +44 (0)20 7404 5252.
