Practice Summary
Rosalee joined 4-5 Gray’s Inn Square Chambers in October 2018, following the successful completing of her pupillage at the London Borough of Lambeth, where she was trained in the full range of local government work. In 2016-2017, Rosalee was appointed as a Judicial Assistant in the Court of Appeal, where she drafted bench memos and assisted in civil and criminal appeals.
Rosalee is currently instructed in the Dame Linda Dobbs Review. Rosalee accepts instructions in all areas of Chambers work, with particular interest in housing law, financial services, and professional discipline and regulatory law. In her varied civil practice, she has acted in:
- Housing cases in the County Court, representing both tenants and landlords
- S. 82 Environmental Protection Act hearings and trials in the Magistrate’s Court
- NMC regulatory proceedings
- Court of Protection proceedings
- The Grenfell Tower Inquiry, assisting with a disclosure review for the Cabinet Office
- Preliminary employment hearings and assisting the early stages of ET litigation, for example for HMPS in a complex discrimination and whistleblowing case.
She has been seconded to work for brief periods in the employment legal team at the London Borough of Tower Hamlets and the housing team at Birmingham City Council.
In 2024, Rosalee was appointed to the Advocates Panel of Welsh Government Commercial Delivery (WGCD).
Rosalee co-authored two chapters on housing and planning law reform in British Legal Reform: An Agenda For Change (2024, Bristol University Press). Her recent publications concerned Covid-19 and legal immunity (Summer 2020, ARDL Quarterly Bulletin); the right to rent scheme (2019, Briefings); fairness in contract law (1, 2013, Leeds Journal of Law & Criminology) and the experiences of people with learning difficulties in the courtroom (6, 2012, Polis Journal).
As an Equality, Diversity and Inclusion Officer of Chambers, Rosalee has assisted with strengthening Chambers’ policies and organises a parents’ group and leads discussions about raising children whilst practising at the Bar.
Rosalee has conversational fluency in German and Spanish and is currently learning Welsh.
In her spare time, Rosalee enjoys training in taekwondo and spending time in nature with her family.
